AGROJI

AgroJi was a social innovation project developed for the Banco Agrario de Colombia, created to bring financial services closer to rural communities in a simple, accessible, and culturally relevant way.

Through WhatsApp, AgroJi transformed customer service into an experience based on emojis, visual flows, and intuitive interactions, removing traditional barriers related to reading and writing. This allowed farmers and rural users—many of whom have limited literacy skills—to access information about loans, financial products, and banking services without the need to read long texts or complete complex forms.

The project was built on a fundamental insight: access to information should not depend on the ability to read, but on the ability to understand. Emojis became a universal and familiar language, enabling clear communication, easier decision-making, and a more human connection between the bank and its users.

AgroJi not only optimized customer service channels, but also redefined how financial institutions can communicate with rural populations. It demonstrated that when technology is designed with empathy, it can become a powerful tool for financial inclusion, trust, and equity.
